Jeepneys is one of the most Popular and main transportation in the Philippines. For some tourist it became an attraction because of his fancy looks, truly Philippines identity. You will not feel the excitement if you dint try to ride the Jeepneys. This is were culture and traditions are within the Jeepneys that every Filipinos remains its values of being kind and polite. This Jeeps are the heritage of wars back in time almost 68 years ago, the parent of this Passenger Jeep is the Willy's Jeep designed for utility personnel used by the American GI's in the Pacific called Civilian Jeep. It has two door 3 speed manual and 4 speed layout, 134 Cubic inches or 2.2 liters gasoline, 2199.53 cc displacement 1 barrel carburetor fuel system with the out put power of

60 Horse Power.  This jeep was built in Toledo Ohio United States of America developed and Manufactured by Willy's and Ford Motor Company. When the war is over hundreds of  Willy's Jeep donated to Philippine Government by the American Commander and after couple of years it became arms vehicle to patrol in urban and sub-urban areas of the Philippines.

Few years later it became the mean transportation in the country developed by the cab entrepreneurs in the Philippines. Sarao Company who first to customized Willys Jeep followed by Morales Motors extending the back part of the jeep that measures one and one half meters in length that can be seated by 6 person the width remains the same measures 2 meters, the drivers seat is linked from the right seat that can be seated by two person while the roof converted into hard metal sheet. Their are 9 person that can be seated maximum including the driver.

When I was a kid the jeepneys before late 1970's was so short and narrow just like Willys Jeep. The extend parts are metal roofs the length adding two more person to more people commuters can ride. The exterior design of the Jeepneys in that time is like 1960 to 1971 Chrysler Imperial or the Bat-mobile in the 1975 cartoon Batman and Robin.

As I started to think about the past that people in that time was naive bringing up this vehicle to become a major transportation in the country. I was thinking about its past were I felt that jeep symbolize as remembrance of armed conflicts in the country. It only reminds the pain brought by this war, consistent authority and absolute power remains here in the country by the Americans. Way back in 1950's to 1960's the passenger jeeps can only load a maximum 7 passenger including the driver, there are 4 person from the back and three to the front. There was a time I even talked to someone even an old jeepney driver when I was 12 year old kid. I am talkative and brat allways having a questions and conversations with the driver, you know’ curiosity about how does the jeep works of how they control it something like that' I sat frequently beside the driver and I always watching the foot gear, the steering wheels, and the gear drive and of course the mirrors hehehe, just like a driver do. It come to the point that the driver is the same as me "gabby" he noticed me so inquisitive concerning the upcoming new trends of passenger jeeps consisting 9 passengers up to 11 passengers including the driver. Then he talked the entire way ‘I remember one thing he say’s’

with conviction, he added, back in time jeepneys are cool and colorful jeeps are many decors like bouncing horses from top of the hood, styles are elegant because the fender are symmetrical with the tires and tires have fancy stainless cover with a variety of color lines in the tire rims. The jeeps have also frontal Tag names with colorful avatar from the top of the jeep that are patterned with American cars. The jeeps are all painted with a traditional Filipino

Speeding your limit out of traffic rules and regulations will be chased or even hunt by the authority and abolished the license that you cannot even register to drive again. Until I noticed that I was passed my destination in the market placed. The old man was laughing at me hehehe, well’ but that's nice I was able to learn with something significant with my childhood.
